Devot 51 Title

Did Yeshua Messiah change the time and manner in which the Passover should be observed? The Jews have always kept Passover on Nisan 15. Did Yeshua substitute what Sha’ul [Paul] coined as the Lord’s Supper on Nisan 13 as the new date for Passover observance? … after which date He was crucified and died at the ninth hour [3:00 PM] of Nisan 14 when the Jews were slaying thousands of Passover lambs on the Preparation day (John 19:31).

The scriptural chronologies of the Old and New Covenant Passovers answers to these questions. The following reveals the timing of the events during both Moses’ and Yeshua’s time.

The Old Covenant chronology of Passover

1 Abib

This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you. (Exo 12:2 )
Observe the month of Abib, and keep the passover unto YHWH thy Elohim: for in the month of Abib YHWH thy Elohim brought thee forth out of Egypt by night.

(Deu 16:1)

10 Abib

... In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb ...
(Exo 12:3)
And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.

(Exo 12:6)

14 Abib

In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, ...
(Exo 12:18)
In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the YHWH'S passover.
(Lev 23:5)
It is a night to be much observed unto the YHWH ...

(Exo 12:42)

15 Abib

In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even.
(Exo 12:18)
First day of unleavens, a holy convocation.
(Lev 23:6-7)
And they departed from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the morrow after the passover.
(Num 33:3)

16 Abib

And he shall wave the sheaf before the YHWH, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath ...
(Lev 23:11)

21 Abib

7th day of unleavens, an holy convocation.
(Lev 23:8)

Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover. (Luke 22:1)

And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; … Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot,… (Luke 22:2-3)

The second day of Unleavened Bread, the day upon which the waive sheaf was offered per oracles of Lev 23:11, and as documented by Josephus among other ancient historians.

What advantage has the Jew? … Much in every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of Yahweh (Rom 3:1-2)

All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; ….” (Mat 23:3)

17 Abib – Sabbath Day

The 3rd night and day of entombment, Yeshua was risen. The 72 hour prophesied was fulfilled about 3:00 PM. (Mat 12:39; 16:4; Luk 11:29, 30)
